AISHA BUHARI CUP which was previously an invitational tournament will now be played as friendlies due to FIFA’s instruction that the games should be played strictly under the FIFA Women’s Type 1 rule which allows only two matches to be played by any National team during international break.

The rule also states that each team should have at least a 2-day recuperation break between the two games.

Therefore the following changes have been made:

  1. Each team will play only two games.
  2. There will be not less than 2-days interval from the first and second games for each team.
  3. There will be no winner
  4. No trophy will be awarded
  5. All the matches will be played at only the Mobolaji Johnson stadium (previously, the Agege Stadium was included)

The showpiece starts on Wednesday 15th September to 21st September.
